Buncombe County Schools operate 2-hour delay for students

Buncombe County Schools are operating 2 hour delay for students today on Friday, 22nd November 2024 due to snowfall in North Carolina state. Buncombe County Schools has released a notification regarding school closings and delays for students, stating that buses will not travel on the icy roads. There are 45 schools spread across six school districts in North Carolina, BCS is the 13th largest school system and the largest in Western North Carolina. Currently About 22,000 students studying and 3,800 staff working at BCS.

The following High Schools, Middle Schools and Elementary Schools are there in the Buncombe County Schools area. There are 6 school districts namely Enka, Erwin, North Buncombe, Owen, Reynolds, Roberson School districts. 4 out of 6 BCS school districts were effected by this snowfall.

All assignments will be posted by the teacher by 10 a.m. Students will have up to 5 days to complete assignments. Students will be counted present for the day/class period upon completion of assignments…. statement said. Lunch will be available at AC Reynolds Middle School, Black Mountain Primary, Emma Elementary, Estes Elementary, Leicester Elementary, North Windy Ridge Intermediate, and Sand Hill-Venable Elementary school and is being served between noon to 1pm. BCS Transportation teams will monitor weather conditions in Western North Carolina and will update their students and parents about should they need to further alter today’s school schedule.
